Meaning

This aarti praises Shiva in his all-pervading form as Omkara — the sound and form of Om — one with Brahma and Vishnu. It describes his many faces and forms, from one face to five, two arms to ten, his ornaments of rudraksha and skulls, his union with the crescent moon, and his role as creator, sustainer and destroyer of the universe. The final verse promises that singing this aarti with devotion, understanding Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva as one, fulfills the heart's wishes.
